If local rock group, Amherst Aisle were to musically engineer a baby, it would consist of crossing a Muse spliced Fastball gene with Kings of Leon's DNA, impregnated into Ben Folds...  Or something like that.  What we do get is the piano driven rock alternative collaboration of four local musicians who want nothing more than for you to check your brain.

Monkeyoil.com welcomes Amherst Aisle to the Santiago Art District on Saturday Nov 20.  The local rock group will be performing a live acoustic set from their upcoming EP titled, Stare at the Evening, which includes their single "Braincheck".

Amherst Aisle, whose name was derived from the street name of the apartment complex where the four met while attending UC Irvine, was formed in 2009.   The members are Ben Kashuk on vocals and keyboards, Michael Klein on guitar and vocals, bassist Kevin Leonard, and drummer Derrick Chan.  Their influences are Radiohead, Wintersleep, Muse, Band of Skulls, Fastball, Ben Folds, and Kings of Leon.

Amherst Aisle has recently played at the Anthill Pub and Grille in Irvine,  the Halloween OC event at the Fairgrounds, Evo Lounge, Chain Reaction, Yost Theater and the Avalon Bar.  Stare at the Evening is set for release at the end of 2010.
